Dear researchers, academics, managers of cultural centers and students:

The International Conference on the Oriental Manuscripts is going to hold certain forthcoming events. In addition to honoring Iranian scholars in the autumn of 2022, it is going to have three major events. Its international gathering is scheduled to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, on Monday 27 February 2023.  This is going to be followed up by two further events in Qom and Tehran on Thursday- Saturday 27-29 April 2023.

Papers may be submitted in Persian, Arabic, English, and Turkish.

 

The main themes of the conference are as follows:

1. Detailed description of valuable manuscripts housed in the Asia libraries.

2. Bibliography of manuscripts.

3. Modern methods of preservation of manuscripts.

4. Critical appraisals of collated and edited works and published bibliographies and handlists.

5. Identification of the libraries' potentialities.

6. Editing and publishing so-far-unpublished short treatises and manuscripts.

7. Digitization of manuscripts.

8. Other themes related to the ancient heritage in connection with manuscript-related heritage.

In addition, the news, films, and interviews of the above events will be available in Persian and English on the conference website.

It is certain that for more promising outcomes this conference requires active participation and substantial contributions of a multitude of libraries, research centers, experts, and individuals across the world. They may contribute in various ways, for instance:

2. Contributing papers whether of their own or requesting their researchers or students, all pertinent to the aforementioned themes,

3. Proposing research plans for and to the conference for achieving better results,

4. Book proposals for manuscripts or unedited volumes that pertain to the Oriental culture (The office of the conference is ready for publication of ready-for-press works in both Iran and Turkey.), 

5. Introducing the website of the conference to its target audience.
